Friday we decided to have a slow-paced, easy kind of day in celebration of the completion of Todd's first week of class. Ok, honestly we woke up incredibly sore from the riduculous amount of hiking and running around in Switzerland so our legs didn't give us much of a choice. Reese and I spent our morning playing by the Bodensee. It was so peaceful just sitting in front of the lake while Therese picked "flowers" (you'd love this, mom). We checked out the concert schedule at the open-air concert stage and watched boats sail around. We met up with Todd to try a new restaurant called Fino. There are 8 restaurants that have a deal with the CDC where you buy meal tickets from the center for 5.60 Euro and these 8 restaurants will provide a lunch for the ticket (usually you get to choose between 2 daily specials). Fino was advertised as an Italian/German restaurant, but like all the other ____/German restaurants, it had Italian food plus a few bratwursts on the menu (not that I'm complaining - I love the Italian food).
After lunch, we went back to our room and Reese and I napped before we all cooked dinner. Todd and I finished the night by watching The Reader which we had rented off of iTunes. It is so hard to get used to not having WiFi here. We're so used to being able to check our email and watch any movie or tv show at any time, but with Therese' crib located right by our only internet source, we have been forced to get creative (I am currently typing this post off-line while sitting in the kitchen). Good thing iTunes lets you download whatever you rent.
